Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 Spotted in an ad on Samsung’s Website? Could this Be It?
The folks of Android and Me came across a very interesting ad for the Exynos 5 dual CPU, that seemed to feature a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab unit. This could be that Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6 slate I’ve been hearing so much about over the past months. BGR first reported on it in December and then a prototype was spotted in January, but we have no idea if this model will actually make it to production.
The ad for the Exynos CPU was found on Samsung’s website and while the company said nothing about a new tablet with Android and a bigger diagonal, it’s clear that they’re preparing a response for the iPad 3. Some sources have been saying that Sammy wants to one up Apple and launch a slate with a resolution of 2500 x 1600, that may be the Galaxy Tab 11.6 unit. These images here show a device that looks quite a bit like the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) showcased at MWC 2012, but the speaker grills and coloring aren’t the same.
Of course, it could be a random mockup and it’s important to note that it was found on the product page for the Exynos 5250 chipset, the 2GHz unit that’s expected to power the new Android tablet. The question is: how will a 11.6 inch 2500 x 1600 display compare to Apple’s 9.7 inch 2048 x 1536 screen? Or should we say Samsung’s Retina display, since they’re the ones making it?
